Bromley manager Neil Smith told www.bromleyfc.tv: “I’m delighted to have signed Tyrone.  He’s another local player and an experienced player at this level.

“He came close to promotion with Dover Athletic last season and I believe it says a lot about our ambition as a club that he wants to be a part of what we’re looking to achieve this season.”

Sterling becomes Smith’s first summer signing and replaces Joe Anderson, who quit the club a couple of weeks before the end of the club’s best ever National League campaign, finishing a club record best of tenth-place with 62 points in the bag.

Sterling, who works for Cray Wanderers in their community team, added: “It’s great to have joined my local club. It’s a new beginning, I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running and having a great season.”

Reflecting on his time at Crabble after helping Chris Kinnear’s side finish in the top six, Sterling said: “Sorry to say my campaign at Dover Athletic FC has come to an end. Some great memories made and some great people I have met.

“It’s now time for a new beginning and I wish everyone at the club the very best and no doubt I will see you all this coming season. Thanks for everything.”

Smith is close to unveiling a new goalkeeper, after showing the door to former Whitehawk keeper Ross Flitney, who was a short-term fix after Alan Julian defected to Ryman Premier League big-spenders Billericay Town.

“I remain in talks with last season’s squad and the only additional news I have at present is that Ross Flitney has left the club and that I’d like to thank him for all his efforts last season,” added Smith.

“We have signed a new goalkeeper, although at present we’re unable to release the details as he is completing the terms of his departure at his previous club, but I do look forward to announcing and welcoming him to our club shortly.

“I’d like to thank the supporters’ for their patience and assure them that we are working on strengthening the squad and I look forward to confirming further signings as and when they are completed.”

Sterling is one of six players whom are under contract at Hayes Lane next season.  The others are; Alan Dunne, Jack Holland, Jordan Higgs, Daniel Johnson and George Porter, who of whom will be playing on Bromley’s new artificial pitch next season.

Confirmed departures have been striker Bradley Goldberg and midfielders Lee Minshull and Connor Dymond.

Maidstone United, meanwhile, have announced that last season’s top goalscorer Jamar Loza is back at the club next season.  The 23-year-old, Jamaican international, who’s attracted interest from clubs in the Football League and National League in recent weeks, has put pen to paper on a one-year deal.

Kevin Lokko, 21, has also signed a new contract, having signed for the club from Welling United last summer, making 46 appearances in all competitions for the Stones.
