Bromley sign winger Reece Meekums following successful trial at Hayes Lane
BROMLEY manager Neil Smith has unveiled the signing of winger Reece Meekums following a successful trial at Hayes Lane.
The 19-year-old, has impressed with his pace and trickery, having featured in all of the clubs pre-season fixtures.
Meekums is comfortable on either wing and can also play as a forward, offering versatility across Smith’s front line.
He started out at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he featured in the Under 18s in the 2016/17 season, before moving onto the Under 23s for the 2017/18 campaign, where he was part of the Premier League Two Division Two winning side.
Meekums also enjoyed a loan spell at Worthing, where his goals and performances saw many club’s take interest.
Smith was delighted to secure Meekum's services amidst other interest and told www.bromleyfc.tv: “Reece came in to train with us towards the end of last season and then again in pre-season.
“He’s been fantastic so far and is scoring very highly in our fitness tests. He’s pacy and has a few tricks up his sleeve as well, so I’m sure he’ll be a great addition to the squad.”
Meekums, who has signed a one-year contract at Hayes Lane, added: “It feels good to get it over the line. I’ve been training with the club for a few weeks now and all of the players and staff have been brilliant and very welcoming. It’s time to kick on now!”
