Bromley sign striker Jamie Philpot from Millwall on youth loan: It's a great chance to prove myself
BROMLEY manager Neil Smith has today unveiled the loan signing of Millwall striker Jamie Philpot.
Philpot, 20, has joined the Hayes Lane club on an initial one-month youth loan.
Smith told www.bromleyfc.tv: “We’ve been after Jamie for a few weeks now, but injuries at Millwall meant we were unable to call upon his services as early as we would have liked but I took a phone call from (Millwall manager) Neil Harris to let me know he was available again and we’ve brought him in. I think he’s going to be a fantastic addition to our squad.”
Bromley sit in sixteenth-place in the Vanarama National League table on 18 points from 15 games and are eight points clear of the relegation zone.
The Ravens travel to Wrexham, who are a place immediately above them in the table and the Welsh club have collected 19 points.
Philpot says he wants to hit the ground running, starting in Wales tomorrow.
“I’ve been in and out of the Millwall squad with not a lot of playing time so when the manager said Bromley were interested, I jumped at the opportunity, said Philpot.
“I’m looking forward to playing and scoring plenty of goals. It’s a great chance for me to prove myself in men’s football and show the manager I’m capable of making even more first team appearances for Millwall.”
Bromley’s leading goalscorer this season is former West Ham United and Leyton Orient winger Blair Turgott, 22, who has found the back of the net on six occasions.
