Winger Luke Wanadio leaves Bromley for league rivals Aldershot Town
ALDERSHOT TOWN have unveiled the signing of former Bromley winger Luke Wanadio, 25.
The former Dartford winger spent one season at Hayes Lane, making 49 appearances and scoring eight goals for Neil Smith’s side, but he has decided to leave to sign a one-year contract with their Vanarama National League rivals.
The Shots finished in fifth-place in the table with 75 points on the board from their 46 games, while Bromley finished only four places and five points below and suffered double heartbreak at Wembley by losing 5-4 on penalties to Brackley Town (after a 1-1 draw after extra time) in The Buildbase FA Trophy Final.
“Once I spoke to (Aldershot Town manager) Gary Waddock and James Rowe, there was only one club that I wanted to join,” Wanadio told www.theshots.co.uk.
“One of the main reasons why I’ve signed for Aldershot Town is the management team. I’d heard so many good things about them, as well as the fans, so it’s a no-brainer for me.
“It’s fantastic to play for a manager who believes in my ability and I hope that the fans will be happy with what they see.
“I like to run at defenders and create and score goals. I like to excite people and be an entertainer and Aldershot Town’s style of play really suits my game.”
Reflecting on his time at Hayes Lane, Wanadio added on Twitter: “I’d like to thank everybody at Bromley for their support last season in what was a great season for the club.
“The season didn’t end how I would have wanted for me personally but I’m glad I was a part of such a special season. Thanks for everything and I wish you guys all the best.”
The Ravens have lost 21-goal attacker Louis Dennis and 20-goal midfielder Josh Rees to Portsmouth and Gillingham (both League One clubs) respectively this summer.
An interesting point is that Wanadio and Dennis have the same agent.
