BROMLEY manager Neil Smith says the club are there for elderly and vulnerable people in their local community and will deliver food to them during this Coronavirus crisis.

The manager of the National League club addressed supporters in a video on the club Twitter account this morning and insists the club will be there for you!

Bromley resident Smith said: “Morning everybody! These are difficult times, we’ve just had a meeting and we want to make sure that Bromley Football Club, we’ve always said is the hub of the community and this is our way or proving it, so we’re making contact with our elderly supporters and were going to offer to deliver food to them, donate some food to them, as well as our local supporters.

“We’ve good food stock in the club that we will be delivering to any of our vulnerable and elderly supporters.

“If you can get in contact there is a link on our club website, please feel free (to contact us) and if you know of anybody else as well who might need any help please get in contact because we are available.

“We are also contacting the NHS to see if we can help in any way in our capacity as the local club to help.

“And as I say, we need to stick together. As supporters’ you supported this football club when we’ve needed you, the players, the management, the staff, the directors, the owner.

“It’s our way of saying that we want to be there for you now! We want to support you, the public, the supporters in any way shape or form we can.

“We can pull through, we can do this together. We’re going to need everybody and we are available to help in any way we can.

“Please, please, please get in contact if you can, stay safe and hopefully we can get through this, through better times.”

A club statement added: “With everything taking unexpected twists and turns in all of our worlds in recent days and weeks, many of you will be wondering what is going on at your beloved Football Club.

“Bromley Football Club is a family club with everyone involved with it, in whatever capacity, at the heart of everything it does. With that in mind, we are committed to reaching out and helping those who need it the most in these uncertain times.

“Therefore, Club staff will be sorting through our food stock today to donate to the local Bromley Borough foodbank, which will no doubt be inundated with requests at present. And where possible, we would encourage supporters to do the same –  click here for details.

“The Football Club are also liaising with the local authority who are coordinating Bromley’s volunteer response in order to make our facilities available where and if required.

“Not only this, but we understand that a number of our supporters may also need support. We feel it is only right to provide this to our loyal fanbase, and will be contacting older supporters throughout the morning to offer any support we can including delivery of food.

“Similarly, if you know of any supporters who may need us, we urge you to contact us using the form below and we’ll do our upmost to help.”
