American businessman buys a minority shareholding in League Two Bromley with proceeds generated to contribute towards the £2.8 million development of East Stand at Hayes Lane

Wednesday 11th December 2024

BROMLEY have announced that an American businessman has successfully acquired a minority shareholding in the League Two club.

Anthony Serafino, 32, is the president of New Jersey-based Exp. Group LLC, a multinational organisation which for over 40 years has managed a production, exportation and distribution network of fresh food across South and Central America and the Caribbean.

He has secured his stake in the Hayes Lane outfit by acquiring shares from owner and chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves and vice-chairman Jon Plassard.

Proceeds generated from the sale of these shares to Serafine will contribute towards funding the development of the new East Stand (Cricket Ground terrace), which Stanton-Gleaves has confirmed will come at a cost of £2.8 million.

“We’re very excited to welcome Anthony to the Bromley family,” Mr Staton-Gleaves said in a statement.

“He has tremendous enthusiasm for the short and long-term vision and ambitions of the football club and is determined to help play a part in our progress on and off the pitch.

“Our commitment to consistent and sustainable growth is absolute and Anthony’s arrival is another positive step forward for the club in this regard.

“We are very pleased to have him on board and I’m excited to work together with him in the months and years ahead as our relationship develops and strengthens even further.

Serafino added: “I am absolutely delighted and humbled to join Bromley as a new shareholder.

“As soon as I met Robin and saw his vision for the club, I knew this was the one I wanted to be a part of.

“I am extremely excited for the future of the club under the leadership of Robin and his team.

“He has graciously welcomed me into this next stage of the journey of Bromley Football Club and I promise to do all in my power to maintain and grow the club’s success.  I look forward to meeting everyone very soon.”

Serafino will attend his first live Bromley game when second-placed Port Vale visit Hayes Lane on Saturday.

Andy Woodman’s side are in fourteenth-place in their first campaign in the EFL, having picked up 23 points from their 18 games.
