Daniel Johnson and George Porter sign new deals to stay at Bromley
BROMLEY manager Neil Smith has confirmed that a couple of his current players have signed new contracts to stay at Hayes Lane.
Former Herne Bay defender Daniel Johnson, who has performed superbly after making the step-up from Ryman League Division One South, after progressing from Maidstone United’s Academy and winger/striker George Porter, 24, have signed new deals.
Smith told www.bromleyfc.tv: “I’m delighted to have Daniel on board for next season. He’s had a fantastic season for us, he wants to learn and he will only get better.
“George has been brilliant in every position we’ve asked him to play, he gives 100% and deserves his new deal.”
Smith remains in talks with a number of last season’s squad with the only confirmed departures being that of central midfielders Connor Dymond and Lee Minshull.
Bromley finished in their highest ever league position of tenth-place in the Vanarama National League with a record breaking 62 points after finishing in fourteenth with 60 points in their debut campaign.
Five players are currently under contract for next season, the others being, former Millwall defender Alan Dunne, central defender and club captain Jack Holland and central midfielder Jordan Higgs.
Holland has scooped the supporters’ player-of-the-year award for three successive seasons.
Meanwhile, former Long Lane, Cray Wanderers and Bromley midfielder Sam Wood, 30, has left League Two side Wycombe Wanderers after five seasons. He made 213 appearances, scoring 16 goals for the club.
