James Collins, Laurence Collins and Steve O'Boyle resign as the management team of struggling Bowers & Pitsea
BOWERS & PITSEA have announced the Christmas Eve resignation of manager James Collins and his management team.
The Essex based club are second-from-bottom in the Isthmian League Premier Division table, having picked up five wins and a draw from their 21 league games and are seven points adrift of safety.
“We can today confirm that the board has received the resignation of James Collins as first team manager effective immediately,” said a club statement.
“We would like to place on record our sincerest gratitude towards James and his management team for their efforts since joining the club in 2022.
“James leaves having delivered promotion back to the Isthmian Premier Division at the first time of asking, as well as securing silverware in the Thameside Trophy.
“We can confirm that James’s backroom team are also departing, and as such we would like to place on record our thanks to Laurence Collins, Steve O’Boyle and Alan Warner.”
Bowers & Pitsea have appointed their under 23 manager Adonye Gogo-Ibiama to take charge of their festive games.
O’Boyle stepped down as the manager of Phoenix Sports due to budget restraints on Wednesday 8 May 2024, while Collins stepped down as the manager of Faversham Town on 10 May 2022 to take charge of the Essex outfit after guiding the Lilywhites to a 12th place finish in the Isthmian League South East Division table and to manage in the Isthmian League Premier Division for the first time.
