Binks signs Potter to add some magic to his Chatham side

Tuesday 24th June 2008

CHATHAM TOWN boss Steve Binks has tonight unveiled two new signings as he prepares for life in Ryman League Division One North, writes Stephen McCartney.

Brad Potter, 23, a versatile player who was released by Dartford last month, has signed, along with Ashley Probets, 24, who arrives from Kent League runners-up VCD Athletic.

“Brad now has three or four years' experience playing in the Southern League and Ryman League for Dartford and is a very versatile player who can play either in midfield or as a defender,” Binks told www.chathamtownfc.net.

“Ashley is a very talented midfield player who was a professional at Arsenal for two years.

“He then moved to Rochdale and then moved to his local club VCD Athletic.

“I’d like to welcome these two excellent players to the club and now believe that we have a really strong squad with good competition for places throughout the side.”

Left-winger Probets would have faced competition in the Vickers starting line-up this season, as manager Paul Foley signed winger Nick Hegley from Maidstone United at the weekend.

Chatham’s players report back for pre-season training next week and Binks added: “We are all really looking forward to the new season getting underway.”
