Becks too strong for Corinthian, says Huntley

Thursday 20th August 2009
BECKENHAM TOWN boss Jason Huntley expects to collect all three points against a Corinthian side making their Kent League return on Saturday, writes Stephen McCartney.

Corinthian have yet played a league game this season, as they were voted in at an emergency general meeting at Lordswood just three days before the start of the season.

But Beckenham, who endured a miserable season last term, where they finished third-from-bottom, have played Faversham Town (0-1), Fisher  (2-1) and picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at Norton Sports in their last game, and go into Saturday’s game in third place in the table.

“I expect to go and get three points at home,” Huntley told www.kentishfootball.co.uk  ahead of Saturday’s Eden Park Avenue clash.

“We’ve got a good surface at home, I know there a team that’s just been put together and I think we’ll be too strong for them personally, no disrespect to them.

“But they may surprise us like Fisher surprised us, but if you’re just putting a team together in this division, it’s a lot harder than people think.”
