Beckenham Town end Danny Waldren's first managerial job by mutual consent just 40 days into the season after losing half of his 10 games in charge at Eden Park Avenue
BECKENHAM TOWN have today parted company with manager Danny Waldren by mutual consent, after losing half of his 10 games in charge at Eden Park Avenue.
The club suffered a 4-0 defeat away to local rivals AFC Whyteleafe on Tuesday night and sit in the bottom three (20th) in the Isthmian League South East Division table, having picked up three draws and three defeats from their opening six league games.
The club issued a 45-word statement on their social media account to say, “Danny Waldren has left his position as manager of Beckenham Town by mutual consent.
“We thank Danny for all his hard work and wish him the very best for the future.
“We will provide a further update regarding the manager position as soon as possible.”
The club are sitting within the relegation zone along with Jersey Bulls (three points from three), Beckenham Town, Deal Town (three points from five) and pointless East Grinstead Town (six games).
Waldren, 35, reflected on his first managerial job, also adding on X, “I would like to thank you all for the opportunity given to be manager. But it has been mutually agreed that it’s best for me to step down as manager.
“I wish everyone at the club the very best of luck moving forward.”
Without a League win, Waldren’s only two wins were two single goal victories in FA Competitions away from home, beating newly-promoted side Hassocks in The FA Cup and Northwood in The FA Trophy.

Waldren enjoyed a successful playing career, winning League titles at AFC Croydon Athletic, Bromley, Billericay Town, Beckenham Town (the Combined Counties League Premier Division South in 2022) and Cray Valley (Paper Mills), and was loved by many supporters’ with the way that he played the game with pride and passion, but his first managerial job has ended just 40 days into the new season.
Beckenham Town are at home to Hendon in The FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round on Saturday.
Hendon are fourth-from-bottom in the Isthmian League South Central Division, having picked up four draws and two defeats in their opening six league outings.
Ben Bukowski’s side won 2-1 at League rivals Littlehampton Town at the first stage of the competition.
