BECKENHAM TOWN assistant manager Billy Walton says he is feeling excited about tomorrow’s FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round home tie against Colliers Wood United.

“As we all know The FA Cup is the greatest cup competition in the world and it's a privilege to play in it, so we are looking forward to the game against Colliers Wood United with great excitement,” said Walton.

“We don’t know too much about them as we have not had a chance to go and look at them but I’ve heard some good things about the way they play.

“The money this year in the FA Cup is a very good opportunity for club’s at our level to earn some good cash for the club and we would like to stay in it for as long as possible and maybe get Bromley at home.”

Beckenham Town kicked-off their Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division campaign with a 3-2 win at Bearsted last weekend and Jason Huntley’s men were without a midweek outing and sit in ninth-place.

“Our first game of the season last week against Bearsted did not go to plan but give credit to Bearsted they come out with a very good game plan against us which almost worked,” said Walton.

“But the good things we take from last week is that we changed shape at half-time and we defended better and played better and I think at the end we deserved to win the game on the way we played in the second half, although Bearsted were very unfortunate not to come away with something.

“We are looking for a much improved performance from the boys tomorrow and I’m sure they will produce as they are a very talented group of players and I know they can play a lot better than what we did last week.

“We are at home on our pitch so let’s hope it’s a good game for all those who come through the gates and good luck to all the other teams in The FA Cup from our League.”

Colliers Wood United began their Combined Counties League Premier Division campaign with a 4-0 defeat to Spelthorne Sports but they bounced back with a 4-3 home win over Horley Town in midweek.
