Battle of Ramsgate past and present as club honour loyal servant Ben Laslett

Friday 09th May 2014
RAMSGATE honour Ben Laslett tomorrow in a testimonial match that is set to be a real feast of local football.

Current manager Justin Luchford takes charge of the current Ramsgate XI against a Classic Rams side that now includes more than 22 guest players that Laslett, 30, has invited from his decade with the club.

The Classic Rams side will be managed on the day by former manager Tim Dixon.

“Let’s make this a fitting celebration to such a loyal servant and all-round nice guy,” said a statement from the Ryman League Division One South club.

“As well as so many fans’ favourites on the pitch there will be food available afterwards, with the club’s senior awards night in the clubhouse in the evening.”

The match kicks off at 3:00pm but the club advises everybody to arrive at Southwood Stadium early to take part in the events to raise funds for the popular midfielder.
