Ashford welcome Gunners for Cunningham benefit match
Monday 25th September 2006
Ashford Town are playing an Arsenal Old Boys XI at The Homelands on Thursday night (7:45pm kick off) in aid of Barry Cunningham, writes Stephen McCartney.
Cunningham, who was the most improved reserve team player at the club last season, was recently diagnosed with cancer.
And Ashford’s famous son, Neil “Razor” Ruddock, and some well known Kent county cricketers will take to the much-improved playing surface at The Homelands to support Cunningham, who is currently undergoing extensive treatment.
A club spokesperson said: “We do hope you will all show your support and come along for what promises to be an enjoyable game.”
Admission prices in aid of the Barry Cunningham Trust Fund are: £5 (adults), £2 (children).
