Angels not casual with pitch preperation

Friday 10th March 2006
Tonbridge Angels have informed supporters that they’ll be making an early pitch inspection tomorrow morning ahead of their Ryman League Division One clash against Walton Casuals.

Secretary, Charles Cole revealed: “I have already spoken to a local referee about the weather situation.  If an inspection is needed it will be done at around 9:30-10:00 tomorrow morning.

”Before a decision is taken to inspect, I will look at the pitch tonight and again first thing in the morning to check on the condition.”

Cole, meanwhile, has issued a rallying cry to fans to carry out work on the playing surface at the Betterview Longmead Stadium - if it passes the early inspection.

He added: “I think we will probably need to fork the pitch anyway, so I will make further postings on  the forum at www.tonbridgeafc.co.uk tomorrow morning, once I know what is required.”
