All systems go for Whyteleafe's state-of-the-art 3G pitch at Chruch Road

Monday 14th April 2014
WHYTELEAFE have confirmed that they will be installing a state-of-the-art 3G playing surface at Church Road at the end of the month.

The Leafe presently lead the Southern Counties East Football League table with 68 points from 28 games, two points clear of Ashford United, who arrive at Church Road on Easter Monday, 21 April, in the penultimate game of the season for both title chasing clubs.

A club statement said: “Installation will commence on 28 April 2014 although the company will arrive on site a few days earlier for preparation work and is scheduled to be completed on 11 July.

“The club hopes to attract big name opponents for an opening match and this will be announced as soon as it has been confirmed.

“Regardless of the outcome of this season, a very exciting future is assured for Whyteleafe FC – but promotion would be the icing on the cake!”

Whyteleafe will join Maidstone United (Ryman Premier League) and Harlow Town (Ryman League Division One North), who have already benefited from installing an artificial pitch at their stadiums.
