All change at Slade Green

Former Folkestone Invicta, Cray Wanderers and Tunbridge Wells defender Jon Mayall has been appointed Slade Green captain for the forthcoming season.

Mayall has joined the Green from Hythe Town and is just one of a host of new arrivals at the The Small Glen as Danny Evans and Adam Heaslewood begin to finalise their squad for the 2006/07 campaign.

Evans and Heaslewood have also this week announced that Andy Silk will carry out the role of player Coach, Silk has a wealth of experience having worn the colours of Leyton Pennant, Cray Wanderers and Bromley with whom he has been reserve team manager for the past three seasons.

Former Beckenham Town and Thamesmead Town striker Jason Clews has also put pen to paper and linked up with The Green along with former Cray Wanderers’ man Mark Dudley.

Other new faces are Scott Barnes who has arrived from North West Counties League Champions and last season’s FA Vase quarter finalists Cammel Laird and striker Andrew Dalhouse who has been snapped up from Croydon.

Paul Gross has rejoined the club having originally appeared last season before spells with Thamesmead Town and then Erith Town.

The Kent League club have also secured the services of Joe Horlock from Dartford, Joe Diggins (Erith & Belvedere) and Billy Craven (local football).

Further signings will be announced next week.
