AFC Fisher begin search for an unpaid manager

THE CLUB formerly known as Fisher Athletic are inviting applications for the post of their first manager, writes Stephen McCartney.

AFC Fisher are expected to be welcomed into the Bulmers Cider Kent League at the League's Annual General Meeting at Lordswood on Thursday night.

And the south London club, swiftly formed following the demise of Fisher Athletic, have begun the search for an UNPAID manager.

The club have reportedly extended their groundshare deal at Champion Hill, the home of Dulwich Hamlet, and that will be the venue for the second AFC Fisher meeting next Monday, 22nd June (7pm).

The meeting is open to existing members and anyone who wishes to "Be part at the Start" of the new venture.

One of the key issues to be resolved on the night is the name of the club, which will be determined by election.

The committee will also update members of the progress made in developing this new venture and the outcome of the Kent League AGM.

Numerous Kent based managers are expected to apply for the manager's role.

"AFC Fisher are looking for a first team manager to develop and guide a team in the Kent League," said a club statement.

"The board a re looking for someone with commitment, drive, an understanding of local football and who is prepared to be part of the start. The position would be unpaid.

"We are looking to make an early appointment to ensure we can grow and gel a competitive team for the new season.  
"The club is actively seeking a pre-season programme to ensure the successful candidate has the maximum time to develop their squad for the big kick-off."
