Bromley lost their first home league match of the season in disappointing style on Saturday, after leading by 2-0 at half time they fell apart under Slough’s second half onslaught and also picked up another injury with Sam Wood being stretchered off, writes Colin Head.

Both sides had spells of pressure in the first half, Slough went close in the opening seconds and then Bromley came on strong with Nic McDonnell having a goal disallowed for offside and Wood having a short well saved before McDonnell put the rebound wide.

Slough had a good shout for a penalty as the half went on, which was waved away and the play became more scrappy and broken up.

Bromley moved the ball around nicely in their 3-5-2 formation, but often the final ball just sailed over the defence and straight to the Keeper.

Chances came at either end with Joe Vines clearing the ball off the line after Walker made an uncharacteristic error coming for a high ball and Bromley had three chances from a corner which was eventually cleared.

After 35 minutes  the Ravens broke the deadlock when Wood sent in a great cross for Kevin George who did well to turn the ball in from  ten yards out.

Walker made a good save from Mason, before Bromley now looking the dominant force made it 2-0 just before the break, Awuah shot home getting on the end of a good ball in the box by Henriques who had stayed forward following a corner.

Gardner shot just wide for Bromley as Slough began to put in some heavy challenges, George was felled twice before Mousinho made a terrible challenge on the influential Sam Wood and the young midfielder had to be carried off after lengthy treatment.

Bromley boss George Wakeling, however,  reshuffled the formation changing to 4-4-2 and bringing on Collier, but this seemed to leave Bromley open in the middle of the pitch.

Awuah headed over for Bromley and Adam Locke had a shot saved, while Walker made a save from Carbon with both sides pushing forward.

Slough’s equaliser came on 75 minutes when they broke quickly and McCleary ran clear before shooting home from just inside the box.

The winning goal now seemed inevitable with Bromley being dominated for long periods, Carbon going closest shooting over after one of several corners.

Wade Falana came on for Awuah and linked up well with Collier, but the youngster blasted over when he should have crossed.

Slough pushed on and in injury time McCleary had a goal disallowed, but there was still time for them to claim all three points, which they did even deeper in to stoppage time following a scramble from a corner Hodges was on hand to score the winner.
