Bromley aim to pile more misery on Casuals
Bromley return to Ryman League action on Saturday with a trip to Corinthian-Casuals in what is a must-win game for Stuart McIntyre's men, writes Stephen McCartney.

Corinthian-Casuals are third from bottom in the table with only three points from their opening six matches.

The famous Surrey club have lost to Leatherhead (0-2), Epsom & Ewell (0-1), Windsor & Eton (0-3), Marlow (3-4), and Whyteleafe (0-5) before their losing run came to an end last Saturday, winning 3-2 at Neville Southall's Molesey outfit.

Corinthian-Casuals also lost 2-0 at Hillingdon Borough in the preliminary round of the FA Cup.

Bromley progressed to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup following a 1-0 replay victory against Ashford Town at Hayes Lane last Tuesday.

Joe Wade's 81st minute free kick from the edge of the penalty area sent the Ravens into the next round, where Tommy Sampson will bring his Dartford side to Hayes Lane on 27th September.

With six points at stake for Bromley before the money-spinning FA Cup clash with Dartford, the Ravens are focused adding six points to the seven they have already won in their opening six games.

Bromley's central defenders, Joe Vines and Dean Forbes are both up for the Corinthian-Casuals challenge on Saturday and know how important it is for the club to improve on their 15th position in the Division One South table.

Vines said: "Corinthian-Casuals are going to be tough but they won't be a footballing side.  We have got to keep working hard and go there and win the game."

Forbes, Bromley's skipper, said: "The Corinthian-Casuals game is a good one to take us into the league.  The league has always been our priority.  After beating Ashford Town in the FA Cup, and keeping a clean sheet, we can take that
performance into the league games.  The cup win will give the players the confidence they need to get the results, and we should win on Saturday."

After missing two games with personal problems, Joe Wade, Bromley's hero against Ashford Town is looking forward to the trip to Tolworth.

He said: "I am feeling fit and I believe in the players around me.  The team were different class, worked hard and had a great attitude on Tuesday.

He added: "We are looking for three points on Saturday and we will make sure the fans enjoy the game."

Bromley's next home game is next Tuesday, 23 September, 7.45pm, against Tooting & Mitcham United.
