Whitstable's Asslett called up by  England

Whitstable Town first team player, Steve Asslett has been selected for the England Under 18's squad to play infront of 20,000 fans in an international against Northern Island at Belfast's Lansdown Road Stadium on the 27th February, writes Tony Rouse.

Asslett, a Whitstable Town player since the age of fifteen has just received confirmation that he is part of the sixteen-man squad to play in this season's games culminating in a match at Villa Park against a Rest of the World XI in May.

Matt Toms, first team manager at Go Travel Kent League side Whitstable Town said: "There is no doubt in my mind that with some full time coaching he will develop into a first class footballer whose only horizons are the ones Steve Asslett sets himself."
