Toms thrilled as he retains injury-hit Davis

GO TRAVEL Kent League outfit Whitstable Town have announced they have re-signed Shane Davis, despite interest from rivals Maidstone United, writes Tony Rouse.

Matt Toms, manager of The Belmont club said: "Shane is a quality player.  In fact I'd go so far to say he is the best player in his position in the Kent League, probably a league above as well.

"There were other clubs chasing Shane, notably Maidstone, and I understand when other clubs are interested.

"A player has to look at the options, which is only sensible, but I am thrilled he will be staying at the Belmont.

"We never saw the best of Shane last season, he had one bad injury, then just as he regained his fitness he collided with a goal post and suffered a number of cracked ribs.

"A fit Shane Davis is just the lift the lads needed - this is more good news for Whitstable Town." added the delighted manager.
