Constable shown the door

SEVENOAKS Town have announced they have cancelled the contract of top scorer Andy Constable by "mutual consent" and he has quickly been snapped up by former club Whitstable Town, writes Stephen McCartney.

Scoring fourteen league goals for the Greatness Park side, the former Bromley striker, who lives in Dunton Green, will make his return for the Oystermen at bottom of the table Lordswood on Saturday.

Gary Davies and Julian Leigh have both taken over as joint-managers following the resignation of John James recently and this is an early indication that they are rebuilding the side.

Leigh said: "I don't think he was enjoying his football.  He was suspended before Christmas and I think it was the right time for pastures new."

Leigh revealed both clubs have come to an agreement that Constable cannot play when he makes a swift return to Greatness Park next weekend with Whitstable in their next league game.

Meanwhile, the club have arranged a friendly against British Energy Kent County League premier division neighbours Crockenhill next Tuesday, 15th February.
