Barber blow for Slade Green

As a result of an elbow to the face in their 2-1 win over Hythe Town last Saturday, Slade Green player Lee Barber has been ruled out of action for three months, writes Stephen McCartney.

Barber enters hospital tomorrow for surgery and will then have to wear a mask for two weeks.

A statement on their website said: "Everyone at the club would like to extend their best wishes to Lee, arguably the most consistent player at the Green.  We wish him a speedy recovery."

Due to their exit at Ashford Town in the FA Cup preliminary round two weeks ago, Slade Green are without a fixture on Saturday but travel to Whitstable Town for a Kentish Observer League game on Saturday, 17th September.
