Impressive VCD Athletic records come to an end

Go Travel Kent League side VCD Athletic saw two incredible records ended when they drew Slade Green 0-0 last Saturday, writes Stephen McCartney.

Prior to this game, VCD Athletic had scored in everyone of their previous 28 outings this season, hitting four or more goals on nine occasions.

Since November, their much sought after twenty-one year old ever present goal-machine striker, Jon Main, who has scored 32 goals this season, had found the net in every one of his previous fourteen appearances before being snuffled out by Slade Green's thirty-nine year old goalkeeper Paul Vines, and defenders Darren Upson, Phil Miles, James Clark and Scott Lewis.
