Slade Green at full strength for Vase trip

Slade Green look set to be at full strength for Saturday’s FA Vase first round proper tie at Sussex County League Division Two side Mile Oak, writes Stephen McCartney.

Tony Gallagher (suspension) and Danny Little (struggling with fitness) both featured in the reserves win at VCD last Saturday and are both likely to be included in the squad.

With Lee Barber and Mark Sabatino having both recently returned from injury and goalkeeper Paul Vines again making himself available it would seem that for the first time this season Terry Malin and Phil Miles have a full squad to choose from.

Slade Green’s opponents on Saturday are currently sitting in 15th position in the Sussex County league Division Two and were last in action last Saturday when they suffered a 3-2 home defeat against Westfield.

A warning to the Kent side though, despite their indifferent league form Mile Oak have saved their best form to date this season for the FA Vase having eliminated higher league opposition in the shape of Sussex League Division One Eastbourne United Association and BAT Sports from the Wessex League in the First Qualifying and Second Qualifying rounds resepectively

The club are running a coach to the game. It will be leaving the Jacobean Barn Car Park in Bourne Road, Bexley at 11.30am.

However, for those not travelling on the coach directions to Mile Oak's ground are as follows. Join M25 at Dartford and continue clockwise following signs for M23/Gatwick. Leave M25 at junction 7 and join M23 signposted Brighton. Leave M23 at Junction 11 and continue straight ahead into A23. Follow signs to Brighton. When entering Brighton, there will be two roundabouts. Take 1st exit at 2nd roundabout into A27. Travelling west on the A27, turn off onto the A293 (signposted Shoreham), then right at roundabout into Fox Way.
