Ramsgate appoint new youth team manager

Ramsgate are pleased to announce that Simon Humphries has joined the Club to manage their Under 14s side in the Kent Youth League this season, writes Stephen McCartney.

Humphries, an FA qualified coach, managed Red Arrow’s Under 13 team in the East Kent Youth League last season, who ended up champions of Division 2.

Of his new role at Ramsgate, Humphires said: “I am looking forward to my first season in the Kent Youth League, as are the boys already in my squad. I’m looking for a well-balanced side that are comfortable on the ball, and hope to see a trade mark of good passing and movement, which should allow the team to progress again this season and build on last year’s performance.

"I will be holding one or two trial sessions and hope to be able to put together a squad that does Ramsgate proud.”

Club Secretary Martin Able added “We are very pleased to have Simon joining the team here at Ramsgate and believe that he has the right skills to bring out the best in the players who will be under him, which is what it is all about.

"We are also grateful to Red Arrows for supporting Simon and the players in their move to Ramsgate, as they too recognise that they will have a greater opportunity to realise their full potential by competing at this higher level.”

The first trial session is planned for Wednesday 27th July at Southwood, starting at 7pm. Any players interested should contact Simon on 07903-164610 or Martin Able on 07958-993959 (any non-players who would like to get involved with the Club can also contact Martin).
