Young Rams end campaign with impressive form

RAMSGATE'S under fourteen side completed their debut MUSH Kent Youth League campaign  with an unbeaten run of fourteen games that moved them up to third in the table, pleasing their manager Steve McClean, writes Stephen McCartney.

"The boys have all done really well and have met the high expectations of people around the area," he said.

"They've had a fantastic season that should lead to them going one better next year, which I'm sure they will."

In their penultimate outing McClean's charges cruised past Canterbury City, winning 10-1, thanks to a magnificent display from striker Danny Atkins.

The Rams played some great flowing football in the second half with goals from Tom Easton (2) and Ryan Regan to add to Atkins' tally of seven.

That win put the Rams into fourth place in the table and set up a dramatic final game of the season against third placed side Kennington.

Again Ramsgate's youngsters didn't fail to impress and thoroughly deserved their 3-0 victory.  Right from the start the Rams got into their stride and knocked the ball around well.

Atkins kept up his impressive form with two goals and Easton was on the scoresheet again, with a superb left footed strike.

Their is a buzz around the Southwood Stadium club presently as Jim Ward's first team plan for their Ryman League division one campaign, which gets underway on Saturday 20th August.

Back to the youth side of the club, Ramsgate will again be entering under 18, under 16, under 15 and under 14 sides in the MUSH Kent Youth League next season.

They will be holding their signing on night at their ground on Wednesday 6th July, commencing at 7:30pm.
