Even if they check back to 1860, the Wands might not find any previous occasion in their history when the team has won 5 - 1 away from home on successive Saturdays?
Yes, Cray are on a roll - six points clear at the top - but the perfectionists could have found fault with the defence at times during Saturday's impressive result at The Charles Ground.
After Ian Rawlings had headed home from a corner-kick to give Cray an early lead, careless moments at the back allowed Deal two chances that were narrowly missed by Dan Smith and Jordan Barnett.
Two let-offs for the Wands - and then midfielder Jamie Kempster embarked upon a one-man destruction of his former club.
Kempster's determined run made something-out-of-nothing for Adam Heaslewood to shoot home, and then Kempster himself netted two goals to make the score 4 - 0 at the interval.
The second half, inevitably, was an anti-climax. Farrell Cox reduced the arrears with a breakaway lob, but Ricky Bennett struck back for Cray. Two minutes from time, Cox fluffed his chance to score a "hat trick" of three goals against Cray in 14 days, when he took a penalty-kick but hit the post.
