Beckenham Town banned for five years
Go Travel Kent League side Beckenham Town were left shocked at
the severity of the Football Association's punishment for fielding an
ineligible player in the FA Vase, writes Mark Wyver.
The Eden Park Avenue outfit have been fined £1,000 with £383.63
costs and given a five year ban from the competition.
The ban will also prevent Beckenham Town competing in the FA
Cup.
Secretary Peter Palmer commenting on the decision stated he
thought the length of the ban was "very harsh."
The club have stated they are going to appeal.
