Ambitious Bearsted looking for promotion
Ambitious British Energy Kent County League club Bearsted have announced plans that they want to play in the Go Travel Kent League, and will be relying on their club structure to do so, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Honey Lane outfit have an astonishing seventeen sides playing in various league's and the club believe no other in Kent and perhaps countrywide has anything like the structure as theirs.

Bearsted chairman Mike Anthony said: "The flagship of any club are it's first and reserve sides.  Playing in the top flight of Kent's amateur league, we are this season in transition with lots of promising young players regularly featuring in these sides.

"This blend of experience and youth is something we are keen to continue with in the future."

He added: "Bearsted are an ambitious club, and after full consultations with all committee's and managers we have decided to push the club forward to the next strata of football in Kent, the Go Travel Kent League."

Bearsted, however, will need to build a small stand, improve security and install floodlights but the club have plans to put in place the requirements required for promotion.

The club is solvent but it is looking to raise more funds to complete these tasks, any help will be grateful from companies wishing to support this ambitious club.
