Angels in talks with two players to bolster injury hit squad

TONBRIDGE ANGELS manager Tony Dolby has announced he is in fresh talks with two players he wants to bring to Longmead Stadium, writes Stephen McCartney.

With the Angels growing injury list being a major concern at present, the manager intends to bolster his resources in readiness for the crucial FA Cup clash with Winchester City and the tough Ryman Premier Division fixtures over the coming weeks, starting with tonight's trip to Kent rivals Folkestone Invicta.

However, no deals will be forthcoming before tonight's Kent derby but Dolby hopes to sign at least one player prior to Saturday's tip to Staines Town.

Of the current injury list, Jon Heath is expected to be fit for tonight's game at Folkestone but Tim Hambley, substituted at half time in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Kingstonian, is definitely ruled out as is Andy Larkin who is unavailable.

Folkestone Invicta manager Neil Cugley will be giving fitness tests to Martin Chandler (hamstring) and Scott Lindsay (ankle) before the game.

Angels' have been given a boost with news that Steve Searle and Brendon Cass are expected to return to the squad for Saturday's trip to Wheatsheaf Park.

Invicta boss Cugley admitted he is looking forward to tonight's game.

He said: "I am looking forward to the game.  Nice to see our friends from Tonbridge.  We've always had good games with them in the past and Anthony Hogg, who we had to release earlier in the season, is there.

"Hopefully there will be a big crowd and a good atmosphere - we are looking forward to it."
