Angels give youngsters a chance to progress

The youth section of Tonbridge Angels Football Club have started their pre-season training sessions at the Tonbridge Farm Sportsground and further sessions will take place at that venue on Thursday 3rd July at 7.15pm and thereafter on Sundays and Thursdays until the season begins.

They are keen to recruit new talent in all age groups to link with the existing Kent Youth League squads.  Players who have the desire and commitment required to play at this level should contact Barry Jeffrey on 01732 356622 (home) or 07867 887 446 (mobile).

Players will receive first-class coaching from FA qualified coaches, but to take part they must be aged 13-17 on August 31 this year.

Anyone younger who wishes to play for one of the Tandridge League squads should contact club secretary David Cole on 01732 357 817.

The club welcomes players who would be interested in joining their academy PASE squad.  To qualify, players must attend West Kent College and be under the age of 19 on August 31.

There will also be an opportunity to progress to the senior squads, who play in the Dr Martens League Eastern Division and the Suburban League.  Last season, three players of the under 18 squad, Paul Ainsworth, John Beales and Luke Piscina, made the transition into the first team.

The club is also looking for managers for the under 14 and under 18 teams, as well as a UEFA B qualified coach for the under 18 squad.
