Smith makes Angels' debut tonight

Darren Smith is expected to make his Tonbridge Angels' debut in tonight's pre-season friendly against Aveley at the Betterview Longmead Stadium, writes Stephen McCartney.

The 27-year-old midfielder has signed from Nationwide Conference South outfit Eastbourne Borough, where he made 26 appearances for their first team last season.

The Sussex side reached the play-off final last term in their first season in that league.

Before playing for Eastbourne Borough, he played for Sittingbourne, Burgess Hill Town and also helped Gravesend & Northfleet secure their Ryman Premier League title under former long-serving boss, Andy Ford.
