Tonbridge youth seeking their own Wayne Rooney

The youth section of the area's premier football club, Tonbridge Angels, commence their pre-season training on Sunday 4th July at 10.00am on Tonbridge Farm Sportsground, followed by Thursday 8th July at 7.15pm, and thereafter every Sunday and Thursday until the season commences, writes Barry Jeffrey.

The Angels are keen to recruit new talent, in all age groups, to link up with the enormous potential already within the existing Kent Youth League squads.

If you feel you have the quality, the desire, and the commitment required to play at this level, and you would like to progress the next step up the football ladder, then give the club a call.

You will receive first class coaching from the club's F.A. qualified coaches.  To play for the club's Kent Youth League sides you must be aged 13-17 on August 31st 2004.  This season the club will also be running an under 18 side in the Southern Youth League, which will play midweek games.

You will also have the opportunity to progress through the ranks to the senior squads who this season will play in the Ryman Premier Division, and the reserves in the Suburban League.

Tonbridge Angels have already progressed some of their youth players through to these teams, the likes of Luke Piscina and John Beales were great successes last season.

Some of last season's under 18's also made their debuts with some success, Jon Heath, "Patch" Blackman, Mike McKeown and Andrew Crush made the transition from the youth team and into the first team.

So if you are an exceptional talent like Wayne Rooney, or just one of the club's youth team lads who played for the Angels first team at 17 or 18, then come down to Longmead Stadium and play for Tonbridge Angels and they will do their best to nature your talent.

There is also a vacancy for a manager for the club's under 15 squad, and for a EUFA B Qualified coach for the under 15's.
