Dover raid neighbours for Millar

Dr Martens League Premier Division club Dover Athletic have confirmed the signing of left-sided midfielder James Millar from local Eastern Division rivals Folkestone Invicta, writes Daniel Dyer.

Twenty-year-old Millar was previously in the under-19's at First Division Gillingham where he first came to the notice of Dover first-team coach Mark Patterson.

Millar has played over 50 matches for Invicta and boasts an impressive goalscoring record with 12 in the Premier Division last season, despite Folkestone's relegation.

Millar has signed initially until the end of this season but could be given a longer contract if he impresses the management team.

He is expected to be in the squad for the match against Weymouth on Saturday.
