Fisher off to a flying start
Preparation for the 2004-2005 football season got underway at the Surrey Docks Stadium last Sunday when Fisher Athletic took on Sky's Dream Team.
The match was organised by Fisher player-manager Wayne Burnett to raise money for the neo-natal unit at the Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup.

The cause has been chosen by Burnett, because his daughter Kitty spent five months there after being born five months prematurely.
A bumper crowd managed to raise £2,700 on the day, and also got the chance to run the rule over Burnett's summer signings in the game which Fisher won 5-1.
Scorers were Ray Powell, Steve Watts, Hamid Barr, Richard Ponsford and Anthony Riviere.

Burnett, speaking to the South London Press, on sale every Tuesday and Friday for 40p, said: "It wasn't the most competitive of games but I was pleased with the lads considering we had only had one day of training beforehand.

"The new lads fitted in well and I think they are looking forward to life with us.

"They can see there are already some quality players here which is exciting for them."
The debutants included former St Albans City striker Watts, ex-Welling United winger Riviere and Chris Piper who arrived from Conference outfit Dagenham & Redbridge.

Fisher Athletic's next pre-season game is on Saturday 17 July when they host St Albans City at the Surrey Docks Stadium.
