Sodje snapped up by Terriers

ERITH & BELVEDERE striker Akpo Sodje has signed for Coca Cola League One side Huddersfield Town following a successful trial, writes Stephen McCartney.

Although there is no fee involved for the striker, the Southern League Division One East outfit will receive a percentage of any sell on transfer fee.

Erith & Belvedere manager, Barry Lakin, who turns 31-years-old this month, said: "It's a great opportunity for the boy and we wish him all the luck in the world."

Lakin, however, admits there may be a few more players at the Park View Road club in Welling, on the production line that could make it into the professional game

He added: "We have a few others who could make it in the game - if they listen to the management team.

"As I have always said it is going to take time as Erith & Belvedere is not the most fashionable club, but, I will change that and things have already started to take shape."
