Deres confident of causing "upset"
EXCLUSIVE

Fed up with going down the pub on a Friday night with your mates?  Well, why don't you all go to Park View Road in Welling to watch some real FA Cup action instead?

Following their 4-2 victory over Wessex League side Hamble in the extra preliminary round of the best cup competition in the world last weekend, Erith & Belvedere are expecting a crowd of over 300 for their clash against Ryman Leaguers Tooting & Mitcham in the preliminary round on Friday night.

The Deres welcome back central defender and skipper Luke Morrish, having recovered from a minor injury and replaces Gary Cook (holiday) in a sixteen-man squad.

Two goals apiece from strikers Chris Dickson and Darren Adams sealed their passage last weekend.

Wayne Baldacchino, the assistant manager at the Kentish Observer League club told www.kentishfootball.co.uk: "The Deres are in confident mood and go into the tie without any fear.

"The team trained hard on Tuesday night and will have a light session plus team briefing on Thursday.

"We will be without three key players due to holiday but I am confident that we have the strength in depth to accommodate this."

With no other games being played in Kent on Friday night, let's all get down to Park View Road and cheer the Deres into the next round. Well, we don't want a team from Surrey to take their place, do we?
