Deres plan for the future

ERITH & BELVEDERE are facing up to life in the Kent League next season following their demotion from the Southern League, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Park View Road club are holding a meeting between players and management on Thursday to advise all first team, reserve and under 18 players where the club stands and which players are committed to the club for the coming season.

The Deres appointed Mick Acland as their caretaker manager with Wayne Baldachino, who has been promoted from within, having guided the club's reserve side to back-to-back Kent League division one titles, as his assistant, with a view to make their jobs permanent.

Speaking about the meeting, Baldachino revealed: "This will give us an idea of the likely squad and how many players we need to replace.

"I have had a number of conversations with current players from both the first and reserve squad and the signs are good that we can keep the majority of our quality young players at the club."
