Deres would love a win at Arlesey

ERITH & BELVEDERE go into an awkward trip to Arlesey Town without two key players from last week's derby draw with Dartford, writes Stephen McCartney.

Midfielder Ian Pulman, who shone against the Darts, has returned to Margate as his loan spell has expired, while defender Marc Cumberbatch has signed for Ryman League strugglers Ashford Town, where his father John is coaching.

However, manager Steve Robinson hopes to field two new signings for their trip to Bedfordshire.

Arlesey have scored surprising wins against Uxbridge and Fisher Athletic in their last two games at Hitchin Road but the Deres have a score to settle after their game at Park View Road turned on a controversial and highly publicised incident.

An Arlesey Town club official claimed to have distracted an assistant with "questions about his sexuality" sufficiently for him to miss an offside in the build-up to the goal which Arlesey took the lead twelve minutes from time in their 4-2 win.
