Dere's sign McCartney
ERITH & BELVEDERE manager Barry Lakin has been given a boost
ahead of Saturday's Southern League Division One East clash against Boreham Wood
at Park View Road, writes Stephen McCartney.
Club physio Chris Davis revealed: "Some positive news from the physio room
following a couple of good training sessions this week.
"Wayne Brown and Darren Adams have returned to full training and providing
there are no adverse reactions, will be available to Barry (Lakin) for
Saturday's game.
"New striker Denva McKenzie suffered bruised ribs in the FA Cup game at
Whyteleafe, and although still sore, should be fully fit for Saturday."
Manager Lakin, however, admitted the visit of the Hertfordshire side will pose a
few questions to his team.
He said: "Saturday's game is going to be a very tough game.
"I feel Boreham Wood are up there as one of the favourites, and it will be
a good bench mark on how we have progressed in the first month of the season.
"I do feel if we are not on our game, we will get beat. However, if
all of the team are performing, we will get a result.
Lakin, however, revealed he has signed 20-year-old goalkeeper Dave McCartney
from Ryman League Premier Division side Billericay Town.
The Chelmsford based manager added: "He was previously a professional at
Millwall, and he is another player, given the chance, will be good enough at
this level."
