Burman appointed Dartford manager for the "foreseeable future"

We have received the following statement from Dartford Football Club's co-chairman Dave Skinner, regarding the appointment of their new manager.

"After a comprehensive selection process, it was decided by Dartford FC to make offers to the two best candidates.  Unfortunately, neither person was able to accept the position due to outside factors.

"Therefore it has been decided to put into place, the previously stated "Plan B".

"That means Tony Burman will take up the position of Football manager for the foreseeable future.

"To help him with this task, he will be appointing Steve Robinson to work along side the rest of the current management team.

"We wish all the management team success in the coming season, and look forward with anticipation to the opening of the Princes Park stadium in the following season."

Following Tommy Sampson's resignation in January, Burman was appointed caretaker manager - his third spell in charge of the club.  Robinson, however, made a record 653 appearances for the Darts' before leaving to go to rivals Erith & Belvedere at the start of last season to assist Barry Lakin.  Robinson took over as manager when Lakin left the Park View Road club to assist Brian Statham at Heybridge Swifts in January.

We shall bring you the reaction to this news on Wednesday...
