Curtain comes down on Tingley's career

Tingley will skipper Darts in his finale when Burnham visit on final day

Dartford's experienced full-back Danny Tingley has announced his intention to retire after this Saturday's last Dr Martens League Eastern Division fixture against Burnham at Stonebridge Road, writes Stephen McCartney.

Tingley, 35, has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in Kent football, wearing the colours of Sheppey United, Sittingbourne, Dartford and most notably Tonbridge Angels.

His ten years at Longmead Stadium saw him perform with outstanding consistency, making him a huge favourite with the blues faithful.

Tingley cites work commitments and a recent new born baby as part of the reason for his decision although going out whilst he is still performing at his best is also a consideration.

Current Darts manager, Tommy Sampson, said: "Whilst I have tried to change Danny's mind, I fully respect his decision and can only pay tribute to his professionalism and character not only in his one season here at Dartford but at his previous clubs in the county."

Tingley will skipper Dartford in their last game on Saturday and will bring down the curtain on a great career knowing he has the admiration of all the managers, players and supporters that have been part of his history.
