Let's give the champions their biggest gate
FOLLOWING
the tragic death of former Dartford striker Paul Sykes, Southern League Division
One East champions-elect Fisher Athletic will be donating all proceeds from
their game with Dartford to the Sykes family, writes Stephen McCartney.
The Fish announced their good will earlier in the week but Darts boss Tony
Burman told their website they are expecting their toughest test to date.
"Congratulations must go to their team on sealing an automatic promotion
place. They need one point to be champions, therefore the game will be our
toughest test to date."
The Darts will be without Danny Heale (injured) and Mark Horan (work commitments)
but Richard Avery will be added to the squad for their trip to Dulwich Hamlet's
Champion Hill stadium.
Burman added: "Today (Friday) is the funeral of Paul Sykes and Dartford
Football Club will be well represented on this very sad occasion.
"True to the football worlds ability for everyone to pull together the
Fisher directors are donating the proceeds from tomorrow's game to the funds for
Paul's family.
"It would be nice if we could give them their biggest crowd of the
season."
