Ashford's youngsters praised after cup exit
Even though their FA Youth Cup dream died losing 1-0 at Dulwich Hamlet, Ashford Town youth team boss Martin Larkin took time to praise his players for their performance, writes Stephen McCartney.

Larkins said: "Our FA Youth Cup dream came to an end last night on a difficult evening in London. I was extremely proud of the work rate and pride that the squad showed during the whole evening and they were a credit to the club.

"We battled hard against an experienced side and a referee whom some of you may remember him from the first teams FA cup game against Bromley, the lads should be applauded for the way they battled creating chances right up to the final whistle.

" I don't like to pull out individuals on a night when team spirit was so strong but Glen Payne was outstanding at centre back, and the work ethic throughout the side was excellent.

"The squad have enjoyed their run in youth footballs premier competition and are now keen to ensure the season remains upbeat by continuing their good league form."
