Ashford train with Army to
prepare |
Ashford Town's reserves are likely to
be without Aiden Pursglove, Jason Long, Anthony Pace and Gary Croxton for
Saturday's Kentish Observer League Division One game against Deal Town at
the Homelands, writes Stephen McCartney. Instead, all four will be making the short trip to the Betterview Longmead Stadium for Ashford's Ryman League Division One Kent derby at Tonbridge Angels, as the first team have lost six players for one reason or another. However, Mike Robbins' second string, will be looking to continue their impressive form that has seen them remain unbeaten on their travels, in their first home fixture of the season. "Deal always give us a fair game," Robbins predicted in an EXCLUSIVE interview with www.kentishfootball.co.uk Last season, the honours were shared with two 2-2 draws. Ashford battled back from 2-0 down in the first game, and Deal clawed back after twice being behind in the second clash. "Would just be happy to keep a clean sheet," said number two, Martin Larkin. "We have just been training with the Army in Maidstone and the squad are very upbeat," added Robbins. "We have started brightly, and look to build on that with our first home game."
