Margate fines "hard to stomach" says chairman Parmenter
Margate have been hit with a massive £5,000 per game fine by
the Nationwide Conference board of directors for every home game that has to
be re-scheduled due to their enforced ground-share extension at Dover
Athletic’s Hoverspeed Stadium.
Margate chairman Jim Parmenter commented: "This is unprecedented, in my opinion imposing a punitive fine of this nature can serve no purpose other than to damage Margate Football Club.
"It could be the straw that breaks the camels back. Everyone knows we are struggling to keep the club going under very difficult circumstances. I will be considering my personal position over the weekend, but frankly, at the moment, I am finding this hard to stomach.
"The club has 14 days to appeal to the FA and would imagine the Directors will take that option”.
