A new lease of life for Stonebridge Road

Nationwide Conference club Gravesend & Northfleet have extended their lease on their ground at Stonebridge Road for a further twenty years, writes Stephen McCartney.

Chairman Brian Kilcullen told www.gnfc.co.uk: "The new lease, which takes us up to 2025 gives the club the security it needs.

"We are very grateful to our landlords, Land Securities PLC for agreeing to the extension. They have also agreed to waive the rent which is a great gesture and shows their support for the football club.

"The extension also allows us to source grants from bodies such as the Football Foundation."

However, the new lease will not effect the Fleet's plans to move to a new stadium. Kilcullen added: "Our main focus is still to move at the earliest opportunity. What this lease gives us is security of tenure whilst we seek to move and our landlords are fully aware of this."
