Daish hails super sub Sodje

Gravesend & Northfleet boss Liam Daish was disappointed his side didn't bag all three points at Accrington Stanley yesterday.

Speaking about their 1-1 draw, he told the Non League Paper: "People will look at it and say it was a good point at Accrington, but I think we shaded it on chances.

"We had more clear-cut chances and I look on it as two points dropped.

"I was disappointed we didn't win the game."

He admitted teenage substitute Onome Sodje - on a season loan from Charlton Athletic - had sparked his side into life.

"He is full of energy and gave us something that was missing in the first half.

"He played some good stuff, created chances and gave us that raw aggression, and that is what made his goal."

Meanwhile, Steve McKimm has returned to light training after a cruciate knee injury.

Daish added: "Steve is coming along nicely and will be doing figure-of-eight running in the next week.  We feel that Christmas is a realistic target for him."
